My new paper, 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝: 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐀𝐈-𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐈𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐖𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, published alongside 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢 and 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐨 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐨, is now online on 𝐈𝐄𝐄𝐄 𝐗𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞.

In this study, we move beyond traditional computational detection methods (such as Deep Neural Network models) to propose an innovative neurocognitive framework. We analyze how synthetic content, by exploiting techniques like prompt engineering and media spawning, operates in a “gray zone” that circumvents traditional moderation. These stimuli directly target our cognitive architecture, leveraging the Novelty Effect, embodied simulation, and amygdala-driven emotional processing to entrench extremism at a pre-rational level.
